Book Description: The innovational work, entitled Sixty American Opinions on the War was
created in 1915, once
Europe was already engrossed in the "Great War"
(World War I), and America was predominately still an isolationist
nation. There was evidently more debate over whether America should
become involved in the war, for galore and nice reasons.
THIS publication consists of the 1st four opinions, only.
Since the book was make in London, it's intent must certainly have
been to garner keep for American entry into, and/or keep of the
War. The "opinions" are compiled from various sources, such as essays,
books, articles, etc.
The innovational Preface provides a nice description of the book:
THE object of this little book is to show how galore friends we have
in America.
The selection of "American Views" makes not pretend to be exhaustive.
If time had allowed, it would-be undoubtedly have been easy to cite the favourable
opinions of galore another Americans as eminent as those here represented.
As a rule those individuals whose opinions have been promulgated in
book or pamphlet form are intentionally quoted at more less length than those
whose contributions have appeared in newspapers or private letters only.
The cordial thanks of the compilers are due to the Authors, Editors,
and Publishers whose generosity has ready-made the collection possible.
The contributions have, for obvious reasons, been arranged in
